Hurricane Season Updates: Tropical Depression 2 Forms

TD 2At 11am EDT, Tropical Depression #2 is located 60 Miles east of Monkey River Town, Belize and moving toward the west-northwest at 13 mph. The maximum sustained winds are 35 mph and the minimum central pressure is 1008 mb.

TD #2 is forecast to head toward the west-northwest and that general motion should continue over the next couple of days. On that track the center of the depression will move inland over southern Belize this afternoon.  The depression could emerge into the Bay of Campeche on Tuesday. Some weakening is expected as the depression moves over land, some increase in strength is possible as the center moves into the Bay of Campeche. This is not a U.S. threat.
